We played a show at Twin Ports Brewing on Friday. In a word, it went awesomely.
First off, it was just plain awesome to play our first live show along-side so many of our Northland rock and roll peers. We've been in bands with almost everyone else that was on stage (Humanoid and Batteries). That, and the always friendly and cosy atmosphere at TPB really put us at ease, which we probably needed. We weren't nervous at all. We were almost too eager to get behind out instruments.
The only bad thing about a having a rock band play at TPB is volume. It's impossible to play through an amp there without sounding like you're turned up to 11, and it dosen't help the the crowd is almost literally on-stage with the band. While this is certainly no problem for us as a band, it can make those with more sensitive ears a bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless, we blasted though our short set with only one or two very small hiccups.
We all had a great time, received some nice comments (yes, we DO sound a lot better live), and sold a fair amount of CDs. We couldn't have asked for a better first show.
We hope you will all cone on down for our next gig at the 400 Bar in Minneapolis this Thursday.
